During today’s group meditation session on zoom, we practiced a few forms of walking meditation. For one meditation, we practiced stepping very slowly, matching one step with one inhale and one step with our exhale. After each complete breath, we had taken two steps. For our second meditation, we kept our breathing rate the same but increased our steps to count 6 or 7 total steps with each complete breath. Breathing in while taking 1-2-3 steps, and breathing out, taking 1-2-3 steps. Some people feel more comfortable including an extra count on either the inhale or the exhale, I personally count 3 for my inhale and 4 for my exhale. I felt like the slower meditation cultivated more concentration and calmness, and the faster stepping one was energizing + invigorating! A special thank you to Paul + Bugs for your awesome feedback about your meditation experiences ^_^ There are so many ways to make practicing mindfulness fun! We can organize a time to practice meditation alone or with friends, we can incorporate mindfulness into our daily activities to make our time more meaningful, or we can transform unpleasant or negative experiences into enjoyable learning opportunities anytime we focus our full awareness on the moment we’re currently in. This moment has the potential to be anything we make of it! Breathing in, present moment
Breathing out, wonderful moment Comments are closed.
