Preserving our Inner Peace
We must hold onto our inner peace. Every day, we will encounter situations and people that try to take away our peace, but it’s in our best interest to gracefully separate from anything that upsets our sense of wellbeing. When we work diligently on cultivating a positive, clear mindset, we must be protective of anything that could possibly undo our progress. Every time we skillfully rise above or gently separate from something that is testing our sense of peace, we grow and become stronger. We can fortify ourselves by using every challenge as an opportunity to strengthen and reinforce our peacefulness. If we feel sad, angry, frustrated, lonely, or other difficult emotions, these feelings are valid; but we can shift our perspective to a more comfortable and clear-minded state when we remember how depleting negative emotions are on our mental and physical health and how much work we’ve put into our mental wellbeing. We can honor our efforts by utilizing the skills we’ve learned so we may respect and extend our peacefulness. Situations and other people can take our time and energy, but they cannot take our inner peace unless we allow them to.
“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work.
It means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart.” - Unknown

Being an Instrument of Peace
At times, we may feel at war with the world, our thoughts, and our body. With mindfulness meditation and mindful breathing, we can develop our awareness, patience, and determination. We can use these skills to lead an actionable life and be true, impactful instruments of peace. Our world suffers from a lot of political, social, and environmental oppression; so our contribution of peacefulness is a very noble and needed offering. If we pursue money, status, or violence, we are foolish because true strength is deep, inner peace. Sink deeply into the now, because peace is here, in this present moment. We have the capacity to touch peace by breathing in and out mindfully, by walking tenderly on the earth, and by observing the many wonders of life.
